Our August Summer Intensive scheduling details can be found below.

Please read these reminders:

On Friday, August 25th from 6:00-7:00 PM, there will be a Showcase Performance for Family & Friends in STUDIO D. Students will showcase some of the combinations they have learned throughout the week.

INTENSIVE ATTIRE:
Wear what you feel most comfortable dancing in and being your best self! We suggest form-fitted clothing so all teachers are able to guide and give our dancers corrections on form and placement throughout the workshop. Please do your best to avoid baggy clothing (unless for example you are throwing on sweatpants or a T-shirt for Hip Hop or Street Jazz styles). There will not be a whole lot of time in between classes when you are switching styles, so be prepared to change layers easily if you plan on doing so for Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap etc. Fun, colorful outfits - anything you would wear to our regular classes during the year!

FOOTWEAR:
Please bring ALL dance shoes for every style. As a reminder, any type of sneaker worn in the studio must be CLEAN and not used outside. Please come in alternative footwear to the studio and save your sneakers for the classes. Ballet shoes are highly encouraged for all ballet classes - you will get the most out of your ballet experience if you are in a form-fitted outfit with proper footwear, we promise!  Tap shoes are recommended but if you do not own a pair of your own, you can wear your "studio sneakers" mentioned above.

**Pro-Pro 7-12 Grade Track - If you choose to bring or wear any type of heeled character shoe, please be advised that it must be a Dance Heel - no stilettos are permitted in the studios. If you have questions about this, please do not hesitate to ask.

SCHEDULE & LEVELING:
Below you will see the breakdown of our Intensive leveling.  Prepare to arrive 5-10 minutes before your first class on Monday morning so you know where to go and can get settled in! The schedule and studio assignments will be posted in both buildings and there will be faculty there to help guide you in case you forget.

As mentioned in the registration, you must stay in the classes designed for your track, unless otherwise noted by a faculty member. The teachers have catered each class to each specific level, so please trust our placement of your dancer. We want them to get the most out of their experience as possible!

MISCELLANEOUS:
Pack snacks, water and anything else you would need for your day of dancing! Be ready for anything thrown your way and come with the awesome energy we know you have for ALL of your teachers and fellow dancers. Please stay focused and work extra hard for the phenomenal guest faculty coming to visit us at NCDA! This is an awesome opportunity for everyone participating!

Remember that we must always strive to be supportive and encouraging to our community of dancers at NCDA. Cheer one another on; tell someone they did amazing!! Many of you will be dancing with old friends, maybe even new ones - how exciting! Introduce yourself to someone new!
