Auditions for the 2023/2024 Company & Ensemble Teams & for our

Advanced Recreational Classes will be held on

Saturdays, June 17th & August 26th.

Two dates are available for your scheduling convenience; only one audition is required!

 

 An audition is required for all returning Company, Ensemble, & Advanced Dancers.

SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 26th -

COMPANY,  ENSEMBLE,  & ADVANCED RECREATIONAL CLASS AUDITIONS:

11:00-12:15   COMPANY, Grades 2-4   -   Ballet Placement + Jazz Combination

 

12:15-1:45   COMPANY, Grades 5-8   -   Ballet Placement + Jazz Combination + Contemporary/Lyrical Combo

 

1:45-3:15    COMPANY, Grades 9-12  -   Ballet Placement + Jazz Combination + Contemporary/Lyrical Combo

  

3:30-4:15    JUNIOR ENSEMBLE, Grades 3-6  -   Jazz Technique + Combination

4:15-5:00   SENIOR ENSEMBLE, Grades 7-12  -  Jazz Technique + Combination

 

5:00 - 5:30   ADVANCED LYRICAL & JAZZ CLASS, Grades 8-12  -  Lyrical + Jazz Combination

5:30 - 6:00   ADVANCED HIP HOP CLASS, Grades 4-7  -  Hip Hop Combination

6:00 - 6:30   ADVANCED HIP HOP CLASS, Grades 8-12  -  Hip Hop Combination

6:30 - 7:00   ADVANCED (ACADEMY) TAP & COMPANY TAP PLACEMENT  - ALL Grades   

*This audition is for placement into our Advanced Recreational Tap Class (Academy Tap), as well as new-to-Company dancers who wish to be evaluated for placement into a Company Tap class.  Returning Company Tap dancers are not required to audition for Tap.  Company Tap placements will be subject to adjustments within the first two weeks of Fall classes. 

 

HOW TO PREPARE & WHAT TO WEAR?

*Any dancers interested in auditioning for COMPANY or ENSEMBLE should attend one of our two auditions: June 17th or August 26th. 

*Please know that you must be prepared to accept the level of Company or Ensemble that the Faculty place you in.

*Advanced Lyrical, Hip Hop, & Tap Recreational Class Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 26th. 

*All auditions will be held in Studio D (32 Forest Street).  Studio A (15 Forest Street) will be open as a place to warm up prior to your audition, starting at 10:30 AM

*The NCDA Audition Fee is $30 per audition (charged to Family account)

*Please audition with the grade level you will be entering in the Fall (2023). Placement into Company Levels will be determined by Faculty and NOT by the age group in which you audition.

*DRESS TO IMPRESS!

All dancers auditioning for Company or Ensemble should be dressed as follows:

-Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and/or Tap shoes that correspond to the various portions of your audition group.  For Lyrical, we recommend wearing convertible tights to free the feet, with pirouette shoes or bare feet.  You may also wear Ballet shoes for the Lyrical portion.  It is optional to bring form-fitting shorts or leggings to wear over your leotard for the Jazz, Lyrical, or Tap portions of the audition.  Long hair should be slicked back into a clean bun; no jewelry. 

-Boys: White t-shirt, black form-fitting pants, corresponding shoes.

*Please be prepared to bring ALL required shoes into the studio for the audition  

All dancers auditioning for Advanced Recreational Classes should be dressed as follows:

-Lyrical:  Black leotard with form fitting black shorts or leggings over; barefoot or "pirouette" shoes.  Long hair should be slicked back into a clean bun; no jewelry.  Male identifying dancers:  White t-shirt, black form-fitting pants, corresponding shoes.

-Hip Hop & Tap:  shorts or leggings, tank or t-shirt; neutral colors
